It has been awhile since I have posted. Possibly, that is because this blog is not very interactive.
This past weekend, (Oct.21st), I came across a website that featured a midwife in Colorado who is known as a birth intuitive. Her name is Teresa Robertson. She is an R.N., a certified nurse midwife, as well as a healer. I love that she uses her education, skills, synthesizes them with intuitive perception and puts it out there! Teresa teaches moms how to connect with their unborn baby themselves.
Intuition is not new to nursing, (or medicine), for that matter...it is just not spoken about very often as nurses want others to know that they have used their training, only, to practice and give nursing care to patients/clients.
Teresa's website is http://www.birthintuitive.com. I would encourage people stopping by for a visit to this blog pay a visit to Teresa's website. Kudos Teresa!

Empathic Intuitive Assessment
It has been a week since I have posted. I experienced a posting block for several days. I am a consistent contributor to another blog, (Deeper Perception Made Practical). I am even more excited about the title of this blog as it describes a type of intuitive process for me that I have referred to in a previous post. My own research suggests that this term is not in use.
The term empathic here does not refer to putting one in another's shoes, (though that is nice). It describes my intuitive process as an empath, (one who directly experiences what it is like to be another person, emotionally, spiritually, and sometimes physically). It is one way that I am intuitive, but fits me perfectly, like a glove. I will soon be offering services using this term.
Just like anything new or different, most people may not relate to this term. One intuitive I know of has trade marked the term "Health Intuitive" or "Health Intuition." There are many who are unfamiliar with that term. I'm going to go with the title of this blog as it calls to me. It describes a way of reading people deeper. The method of deeper perception is not new, the term seems to be. So I will use it!

Hello October
Here it is a new month. October 1st was not one of my best days...so I took a very long walk around where I live and a lot of what could be called dross came up.
I did check in with myself in the morning as I have described on this blog. My predominate state was frustration. What did I do? I let it be, accepting the feelings, exploring why but not wallowing. This blog is not a personal diary for the world to read, however, I will sometimes post things that impact my empathic nature. There are real reasons for my frustration which I will not go in to here.
What I did, besides the walk, was to read something humorous, (with a serious undertone), take care of some business, and turn off the morning T.V. The news, especially, is not an uplifting experience, even for an empath who is much more skilled than I used to be. Doing some light chores is also very helpful and grounds me. I will have to make note of posting in the near future about grounding....it's BIG. Putting on music is very healing. The most important thing I did not do was to try and chase away my frustration or stuff it. I'm still frustrated today.
I will revive my practice of daily gratitudes, even writing them down in the evening. That helps a lot by opening the doors to more. It is only when one is truly grateful for an experience that one can release it and it's emotional charge. Then there are just things like, the cool morning air of the fall season in Kentucky, the leaves beginning to change. There is no doubt that the Fall is my favorite season! There is also the, suprising, joy that I have come to know from regularly posting on this blog.

The End of September
This day, the end of September, will also herald a new beginning, October. Even though this blog has not been interactive, thus far, I have been more consistent with my posting. That has been very important as a discipline for me even if I am the only one who reads it! I have tried to make it readable for those who may visit. It is not perfect, grammatically, but if that was my goal I would never make an entry! I wish to extend gratitude for those who have made the journey to this place and wish to learn more about being an empath and, specifically, my process...empathic intuitive assessment. It is a long term but describes what I do perfectly. I plan to hang on to the title of this blog, for now.
If you feel that you may be an empath and want to join a forum of other empaths visit, http://www.skilledempaths@groups.msn.com/ The moderator is Lisa P., (purplelisa13), who has also studied with Rose Rosetree,

Something to Add...
When you are first getting up in the morning, (or whenever that is), it is always important to set an intention. The previous two entries is a basic for checking in with yourself as an empath before you take on the energy of other things/people in your environment. Set an intention with a divine being, either an Archangel or an Ascended Master. Here, I am going to divert, somewhat, from what I have been taught or have seen elsewhere....that divine being can be your own divinity, or Expanded Self! I prefer the term Expanded Self to Higher Self. This is the part of you that is wise, loving, and beyond who you are as a personality. If you would like to have another divine being also be a part of this...by all means:-) Doing this simple technique as described previously, will also touch in to your Soul, definitely important for knowing the deepest part of who you are.

Throughout The Day
Dear Readers,
Each morning, after you have raised your awareness by taking several breaths,(about 7), in through the nose and out through the mouth, checked in with every aspect of your being as noted in the last post, it is important that you ground yourself. To do this, imagine a cord running from the base of your spine straight through and way down through the center of the earth. Then take about seven quick, grounding breaths out and in. You need to stay in your body to experience your own life more fully as well as to be effective as a skilled empath.
The above combined with the previous entry gives you a basis on which to compare your experiences for the remainder of the day. As you go through your day and interact with other people, experience another's concerns or difficulties etc., you can say your name to yourself and ask ,"Anything that is not me please leave".
There are other simple techniques in the book, "Empowered by Empathy". This book is my primer for all things empathic. The reason I keep mentioning it is to give credit to the one who created the techniques I share with you, Rose Rosetree. Someday in the near future, I will develop and share some techniques of my own.

An Important Difference
In the "About Me" portion of this blog, I said that an empath functions different from others who may call themselves health or medical intuitives.
The difference is this: An empath experiences what it is like to be another person, hopefully, for the purpose of lifting a burden, healing, or learning. You do not stay there! That is why it is important to become conscious and skilled. It is the subjective experience of receiving information, not the objective experience. One is not better than the other, just different. There are those, well known perhaps, medical intuitives who consider experiencing the other persons emotional reality a contaminate to receiving that information. This would be true for that individual. The empath attunes to the inner patterns of the person from that brief time when they are merged with that being.
When one is unconscious and unskilled with empathic experiences they can be painful or at least confusing. It never has to be! It can be unhealthy to remain unconscious and know that you still are. It is not a badge of honor to continually carry other people's pain either, (does the term co-dependence mean anything?).
It is very important to get into the habit of checking in with your own self when you start your day. Take a couple of deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. Ask yourself, "What am I experiencing physically, emotionally, mentally, (focus), intellectually and
spiritually?" Allow yourself to sense your own energy field, (aura). Touch in to the deepest part of you, the soul, and ask, "What do I need to know now?"
Make it a habit to do this when you first get up in the morning, (or whenever it is you first wake up). This is a basis for knowing what is you and what is not for the remainder of your day. In another entry, I will talk about situations that can occur throughout the day and how to remain clear.

Empathic Readings
Dear Readers,
I am still learning as a conscious, skilled empath. What that means is not taking on others "stuff", which an empath does NOT have to do.
This past weekend, I honored a formal request to empathically merge with a friend's infant grandson for the purpose of discovering the gifts of his soul. I have done this many times, informally, but this was my first formal reading done in this way. I was delighted to do this, it thrills my soul, and his grandmother seemed pleased. It involved a simple technique called, "Darshan" from the book "Empowered by Empathy" that I have mentioned in a previous entry.
Was I happy or what!!!

The Gathering
Today we gathered together, here in Lexington, to Awaken the Rhineland Dragon, (merged with those in Germany). They will do their working later next week, no time no space:-) It was wonderful to see everyone there! Tomorrow we will do it again.

What a Week !!!
Dear Readers,
This a week where there has been a huge shift in consciousness. It is palpable! It does not seem to be connected to my other posts on this blog, but it is! For every leap in consciousness, people will be finding themselves more sensitive to all life around them. Everyone has intuitive abilities, though they manifest a bit differently for everyone.
If one has already been aware of their sensitivities they will be stronger and easier to tap in to. September 18th has been known to me as the Quantum Leap, though it is a point of focus, (a process if you will). For more about this visit http://www.crimsoncircle.com/. This weekend I will be with some of my spiritual family, here in Lexington Ky. doing a working along with those of the group who have traveled to Germany to do the working at the site of the Rhine River. Together, we will awaken the Rhineland Dragon.
For more about us visit http://www.discoversamuel.com/ Wherever you are, I wish all of you to allow yourselves to experience the creation potential that this New Energy has to offer. This summer has been tremendous leading up to this point, with the Fire The Grid experience July 17th,2007 as well as the working in Seattle with Tom Kenyon, July 8th, 2007. What a time!

Share Your Stories...
I would like to hear the stories of other empaths/healers. When did you first discover that you were an empath? How did you know? What teachers or other persons helped you? What were your early experiences and how did you deal with being sensitive and taking on the pain of others? Please feel free to comment. I would really like to know.
Why Merge With Babies?
One of the reasons I like to work with babies is that they provide a contact high. Yes, you heard me.... Merging with babies consciously really gives one a boost, especially in the first year of life, (older babies too). Their auras are so expansive! They really are the closest thing to God, (or Source). Even when they are sick they have that effect on me.
There is a reason that adults either love or fear babies. It is because babies know who people really are...they sense it. Depending on how that person is, it is fortunate for some that they don't yet talk!
Another reason for an empathic merge with babies, (or young children), is to discover the gifts of their soul, (wired from birth). Rose Rosetree did this in a radio interview on September 9th, 2007 on the, EZ Help For You Now, radio program. Two of the four children read were identical twins and their soul gifts could not have been more different. How great is that for parents and teachers that are open to such information! Eventually, I would be glad to do this for someone's child with permission. It is a delightful experience.

Some Additional Thoughts
It has been a long time since I have posted. This blog is something I have never tried before and I must admit that I am still a bit inhibited by the process. The subject matter is something I am very passionate about.
Another term used to describe reading people beyond facial expressions and body language is deeper perception. You will discover more about this by visiting the website of Rose Rosetree, (www.rose-rosetree.com), and by visiting her new blog, "Deeper Perception Made Practical".
I do have more to say about empathic intuitive assessment. There are different ways of being intuitive and all of us are intuitive in our own unique way. The term I use describes one way in which I am intuitive. There is a term that Dr. Judith Orloff, (an intuitive psychiatrist/author), uses which is "intuitive empath". I have no problem with that term. I just do not know an empath that is not intuitive!
I hope to be posting more frequently:-)

Diagnosis versus Assessment
I have chosen to use the term intuitive assessment instead of diagnosis. Diagnosis is a term that, usually, relates to a logical analysis based on questions and answers, (patient or client interview), physical examination, laboratory data, and the use of categories of diseases to determine what is wrong with a person. It is a part of the allopathic view of medicine. That certainly is important and helpful. One can use the term, intuitive diagnosis, if one is a doctor, has other medical training, or is working with someone who has medical training. Otherwise, the situation can get into legally murky waters.
The term assessment means evalution based on observation, which is also a part of making a diagnosis, but requires no medical training. Assessment does not have to be based on categories of disease and laboratory data etc. Therefore, assessment has broader applications. One can make a behavioral assessment or an assessment of one's emotional or mental state without making a diagnosis.
There is such a term as, "nursing diagnosis", that was developed by nurses in the early 1980's, but is not being used as much in current nursing practice. Nurses and other health professionals also do various types of assessments.
For more about assessment, as it relates to intuitive healing, go to Dr. Daniel Benor's website, (www.holistichealingresearch.com), or WHR. His discussion about intuitive healers and healing is interesting and informative.

What is an Empath?
An empath is one who has the natural born ability to experience true otherness be it physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or a combination of these. It is going beyond one's usual boundaries to explore a completely different way of being.
Unconscious or unskilled empathy often feels like a curse and can be confusing until one realizes what is happening. That is why it is very helpful to be a conscious and skilled empath. If one is a natural born empath just ignoring it won't make it go away. It is a wonderful form of spiritual service when used in a skilled manner.
The only author I know of that specifically defines the different types of empathic experience is Rose Rosetree whose book and audio book, "Empowered by Empathy", really helped me accept and understand my own empathic nature and, better yet, how to use it in a conscious way. According to Rose, there are the gifts of emotional intuition, emotional oneness, physical intuition, physical oneness, intellectual empathy, and spiritual oneness. Spiritual oneness is the one gift of empathy that is available to everyone who is spiritually awakened.
There are other, more rare, forms of empathy that Rose talks about in her book. The book is available at her website, (www.rose-rosetree.com), and on Amazon.com. I would encourage anyone who is curious about their own gifts for empathy to check out her website and the book.
